Overview: BE Recruitment is seeking a dynamic and experienced Installation Engineering Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering installations. This role requires managing a team of engineers, liaising with clients, and ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management:

    • Lead and manage the installation phase of projects.

  4. Technical Oversight:

    • Review and approve installation design packs, plans, and specifications.
    • Ensure installations are executed according to design and regulatory standards.
    • Recognize and remedy any installation performance issues.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installations.
  5. Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure all installations comply with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
    • Promote a culture of safety within the team.
  6. Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify and implement process improvements and best practices.
    • Stay updated with the latest engineering trends and technologies.
    • Encourage ongoing learning and development within the team.
  7. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including installation reports and records.
    • Prepare and present regular project status reports to project management.
    • Ensure all documentation complies with company and regulatory standards.
    • Meet and communicate regularly with the project management team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant health and safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, PASMA, IPAF, CSCS, SSSTS, SMSSTS).
  • Full Clean UK driving license.
  • Full UK passport.
  • Significant experience in engineering installation or project management roles.
  • Proven track record of managing engineering projects.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams of engineers.

Skills:

  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling.
  • Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Proficient in engineering and installation practices.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.

Desirable Certifications/Skills:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification.
  • License for LGV HGV or similar.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Hands-on mechanical skills (ability to use power tools).
  • Awareness of or hold electrical engineering certification.
  • EMC and RF awareness.
  • Prepared to undertake National Security Vetting to SC level.

Work Environment:

  • Combination of office-based work with regular site visits.
  • Periods of working away and staying near installation sites for extended durations.
  • Some overseas travel expected.
  • Travel to client sites and project locations as required

Job Summary:
To support installation engineers in the setup, installation, and maintenance of engineering systems and equipment. Tasks involve manual labour, use of hand tools and safe manoeuvring of materials, and adhering to health and safety guidelines.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assistance in Installation:

    • Support installation engineering manager in the installation and maintenance of systems.
    • Handle, position and fit materials, fixtures, and components for installation.
    • Assemble and dismantle basic structures or scaffolding as needed.
  2. Material Handling:

    • Load, unload, and move materials and tools to and from the work site.
    • Ensure proper storage and maintenance of tools and materials.
  3. Site Preparation:

    • Prepare the work area by cleaning, setting up equipment, and laying out tools.
    • Assist in the setup of temporary structures and barriers.
  4. Tool and Equipment Handling:

    • Operate basic tools and machinery under supervision.
    • Perform routine checks and maintenance on tools and equipment.
  5. Safety and Compliance:

    • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and site procedures.
