Maintenance Engineer Required!

BE Recruitment are currently recruiting for an client who are a transportation company. They’re looking for a maintenance engineer.

Role Overview: As a crucial member of the maintenance team, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician/Supervisor is responsible for executing maintenance activities and ensuring the operational integrity of equipment and facilities. This role involves hands-on tasks, troubleshooting, and coordination to enhance overall efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Follow maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities to minimise breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Ensure timely and effective response to equipment breakdowns, coordinating repairs and troubleshooting.

Facility Management:

  • Manage the overall maintenance and upkeep of the organisation’s physical facilities as per Manager’s instructions.
  • Conduct building repairs, renovations, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations within the facility.

Asset Management:

  • Maintain an inventory of all equipment and assets, including their condition and service history.
  • Make recommendations for equipment upgrades, replacements, or disposals as needed.

Vendor & Contractor Management:

  • Collaborate with external contractors and service providers for specialised maintenance work.
  • Obtain quotes, oversee service quality, and manage vendor relationships.

Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure that maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety among maintenance staff and conduct safety training.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history.
  • Generate reports on maintenance performance and asset reliability.

Spare Parts Inventory:

  • Manage inventory of spare parts and critical supplies to support maintenance needs.
  • Ensure essential parts are readily available to minimise equipment downtime.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement in maintenance procedures.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure quick and effective response to unexpected maintenance issues.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Technical diploma or relevant certification in maintenance or a related field.
  • Proven experience in maintenance activities, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
